Movie Review -
Jhootha Hi Sahi
Siddharth gets several calls in the middle of the night from strangers; yet he does not switch off his phone and head back to sleep!
Siddharth (played by none other than John Abraham) then finds out that his landline is at the receiving end of a helpline for those with no hope in life...
Guess who calls next? It’s Mishka and she is on the verge of committing suicide. Siddharth has all the patience in the world and gets her off her ill-intent.
The first half of the movie ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ will drag and drag you even more with several short phone conversations between the lead pair of Siddharth and Mishka (played by Pakhi). Nothing very significant happens...
Yes, the movie is bound to remind you of the American television series ‘Friends’, but that’s it! There is little comparison between the two.
Don’t miss the characters Aliya and Omar (played by Alisha Varde and Raghu Ram), they are Siddharth’s neighbours ... and if there is any chemistry between any pair in the movie - it’s between the brother-sister pair of Aliya and Omar!
Aliya in fact is a character worth a watch, and along with her Japanese boyfriend, they will give you a small share of humour.
The director Abbas Tyrewala may have given us a fantastic movie “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” but “Jhootha Hi Sahi” is nowhere close.
John Abraham is good looking to be a geek, yet his acting credentials come into play when he stammers!
Pakhi is good in patches and is otherwise quite ordinary. Anaitha Nair looks hip in a short role as Mishka’s friend.
Set in London, the photography is definitely commendable!
Of the many songs, there is possibly just one truly worthy, even though the music director is A.R. Rahman.
Jhootha Hi Sahi drags and is only watchable if you are a John Abraham fan.
