Mausam

Harry is driving a good old convertible, he has his friends with him in the car, he pauses as he drives, gets a good look, more like a prowler, he then steps on the accelerator in full throttle... he races heading towards a rail-road-crossing missing the rushing train by inches...

Harry must be a Sagittarian, for the thrills of racing against a train, all for the adrenaline!

More reason for Harry to be a Sagittarian... he ends up being a fighter pilot! :)

Shahid Kapoor characterizes Harry and he begins to like Aayat (characterized by Sonam Kapoor) in the extremely short encounters that they have.

Aayat reciprocates... all that takes place in a little village north of India.

The movie Mausam is truly unhurried, it has all the time in the world, takes its own sweet time to share simple moments!

A genre that is positioned far apart from the feverish pace of most movies these days...

Be prepared to head off to Scotland where the pair meet again. This time the encounters are longer and before you know it, love blossoms in the picturesque backdrop of Scotland’s cobble stone streets and in horse drawn carriages.

The photography is simple, striking at times and gels with the background score and songs.

As for the direction, it conjures up several simple moments - one of them being, the pair seated across each other while you hear their thoughts...

“Love is patient, love is kind.....”

Mausam is a story of love and its slow progression...

Does jealously have any role in this?

Watch how well Aditi Sharma (who plays a character that adored Harry) expresses jealousy!

When it comes to performances, you come across Sonam Kapoor in a never seen before role, while Shahid is good throughout.

The movie is long and towards the end gets a little overboard with some glorification of Harry’s character.

Nevertheless, you need to be patient to watch this movie that belongs to a different genre, especially since it is a simple story of enduring love!
