Tees Maar Khan
I ran into a friend of mine soon after the movie, who asked me... would you like your money back?
I responded by saying, I need my two and a half hours back! My friend then quipped; Farah Khan should be paying people to watch this movie!
The movie Tees Maar Khan is supposed to be about this big time crook, played by Akshay Kumar, who ends up ‘directing’ a spoof of a movie in order to rob a train.
The movie starts off with a song and dance, followed by another song and dance sequence only minutes later.
The is no plot, don’t know if there was ever a script written for this movie, for it’s as though the whole movie was shot impromptu.
Somehow the people who made the movie, either dislikes the ‘movie watching audience’ or wants us to run away...
If there is anything commendable about the movie, it is the bearable performance of Akshaye Khanna who characterizes a big movie star and pulls off a couple of theatrical ‘obsessed-by-the-character’ performance.
Other Akshay Kumar movies have been blasted in the past, but this one will take the cake for being the most unlikeable of the lot.
Katrina Kaif’s character too tags along ‘following’ directions from the fake director ‘Tees Maar Khan’ who spoofs Danny Boyle and M. Night Shyamalan, terribly.
If you have not actually walked off the theatre by half time, in a movie where ‘Tees Maar Khan’ actually tells you it’s ‘intermission’, the second half becomes less bearable.
You will be surprised that the director with much better movies in the past, actually has this to offer.
If there is a movie that you should avoid, let it be this one.
‘Tees Maar Khan’ is a loud, slapstick and below average movie.
